In 2015, during a trip to our small rural town in Paraguay we were told, "girls don't want to play soccer."
In 2016, we set out to create change and shift the cultural mindset to believing girls DO belong on the field. Through our partnership with local schools, soccer clubs, and community meetings we are creating opportunities for girls to dream bigger and walk towards a stronger future.
The truth was they weren't allowed to play and this is due to social stigmas which are not UNcommon in many areas outside of the US.
Girls around the world are not provided the same opportunities as boys and because of this are missing out on important life skills on AND off the field needed to succeed in life, simply because they are girls.
In 2019, Las Pionera's (The Pioneer's) ALL girls soccer team was formed in our small rural town of Coronel Bogado, Paraguay providing an opportunity for girls to have access to an equal playing field and space to play the beautiful game of soccer.
Today, girls are showing up to the field feeling proud to be a ’FEMALE soccer player’ instead of carrying the shame once taught by social stigmas on a male dominated playing field.
Believing in the POWER of the FEMALE STUDENT ATHLETE
Believing in the POWER of the FEMALE STUDENT ATHLETE
In the fight against poverty, the most impactful way to make a difference is to focus on the empowerment and education of women and girls. They are more likely to invest back into their families and those around them becoming agents for change in their own community.
Our goals are focused around creating opportunities for girls to gain the life skills needed to succeed in life ON and OFF the field. We start by cultivating a community of FEMALE STUDENT ATHLETES who we believe can make a difference for years to come. In our International 360 Sports and Education International Program, we create opportunities for girls to have access to an equal playing field, financial support to stay in school, and empower girls to believe in all the possibilities through empowerment workshops and mentoring.
This is our 360. Cultivating character on and off the field that will last a lifetime.
Tuition fees, school uniforms, school supplies throughout the year, tutoring (when needed), and full participation in our all female Las Pionera's soccer program.
