BAY AREA AMBASSADOR
FOR CHANGE LEADER
“My name means to pause and consider. When I stop to think about my hopes and dreams, I come to the conclusion that God has a plan for me, and the only thing that can hold me back from success is myself.” -Selah
Selah believes she was hardwired for leadership at an early age. Now that she’s older, Selah has come to understand that leadership is a gift–one that needs constant and continuous development. No longer is she the younger sister who would convince her older brothers to help execute whatever crazy plan she had dreamt up. Today, Selah strives to be a respected and encouraging leader.
Selah’s leadership style draws heavily upon her relationships with her family, particularly two of her brothers who are living with a cognitive disability. In her own words: “Living alongside them has affected my view of relationships as a leader and advocate against bullying. As a result, mutual respect has become one of my key values.” With respect as the bedrock of her leadership, Selah strives to be a leader who uses loving, truthful communication and who motivates others to use their talents to the best of their ability.
Helping others, and instilling respect as a value in others, are what brought Selah to GSWW. She knows the importance of leading by example when trying to make a difference. Selah has set her sights on playing college soccer for a Division I program, and plans to bring her values and mindset with her!
