Me llamo María Luján Avalos y nací en la ciudad de Coronel Bogado, tengo 18 años de edad. Soy la menor de 8 hermanos, vivo con mi madre la Sra. Blanca Avalos, mi hermano mayor y sobrino .

Me gradué del colegio en el 2023, en el colegio parroquial Privado Sub. San José.  Voy a hablarle un poco sobre mi vida y lo que me gusta hacer. Vengo de una familia muy humilde, mi madre es una señora muy trabajadora, que trabajó toda su vida, limpiando casas y lavando ropas, para sacarnos adelante a mi y mi familia.

Soy la primera en mi familia que culminó el colegio y que asiste a una universidad. Me gusta mucho jugar al Fútbol, jugué al fútbol con los niños por 8 años, donde tres años seguidos salí mejor jugadora, también jugué en el colegio. 

En 2016 conocí a un grupo de chicas que vinieron de Estados Unidos en mi antigua escuela Santa Clara, nos conocimos y creamos un vínculo muy fuerte . Hoy día es una organización sin fines de lucro llamada Girls Soccer Worldwide (Fútbol Femenino en todo el mundo). Soy becada, embajadora y manager del programa acá en Paraguay.  Hacemos muchos trabajos comunitarios con la organización, ayudamos a escuelas con kit de alimentos, profesores de educación física y muchas cosas más, la organización cuenta hoy día con 18 embajadoras aproximadamente. GSWW tiene como objetivo empoderar a las niñas para que tengan la confianza necesaria en sí misma , para marcar la diferencia y convertirse en líderes fuertes en sus propias comunidades, y poder romper el ciclo de la pobreza a través de la Educación y el. Empoderamiento y también para que puedan tener la misma oportunidad que los hombres. 

En 2018 tuve la oportunidad de viajar a los Estados Unidos fue la primera vez que salí de mi hogar, lejos de mi familia, gracias a Dios tuve el apoyo incondicional de mi madre y familia y fue un viaje de mucho aprendizaje, un viaje que me abrió los los ojos y en la manera, y la de pensar. Escuche por primera vez una palabra que jamas escuche en mi vida, fue la palabra, SOÑAR. Era un día que nos íbamos manejando al mar, donde Pamela me preguntó cuál era mi sueño cuando yo sea grande? y mi mente se quedó en blanco, no supe qué responder y luego me explico el significado, le dije que quería ser doctora y desde entonces sé el significado de soñar a lo grande. Desde ese momento me puse cómo objetivo, enseñarles a las niñas el significado de la palabra SOÑAR.

Durante mis viaje a los Estados Unidos desde el 2018 hasta este año 2024 que fue mi quinta vez en California, aprendí mucho como usar mi voz, crecí en mi desarrollo personal y muchas otras cosas más, me encanta ayudar a las personas y crear proyectos.

Durante estos 8 años que sigo estando con la organización, crecí como persona y me da mucha confianza en creer en mí misma. 
También en 2019, creamos un equipo femenino con mi madre y la organización que se llamaba las Pioneras, donde se le brindó una oportunidad a las niñas a tener acceso en un campo de fútbol , fue la primera escuela de fútbol de chicas en mi comunidad hoy día no está funcionando ese grupo de chicas por algunas motivos pero gracias a eso muchas chicas hoy día tienen la oportunidad de jugar al fútbol. 

En 2022 viaje al norte de Argentina en Villa Atamisqui donde hay mucha pobreza extrema, donde muchas personas no tienen acceso a agua potable, luz y alimentos.  Fue un viaje donde aprendí mucho y vi las condiciones en donde otras personas viven y que hay mucha necesidad y no solo en mi comunidad 

En 2023 viaje a Puerto Rico con mi segunda Familia, Walter  Pamela, Christopher y Jacob, hicimos trabajos comunitarios, hicimos talleres y charlas con niñas y niños. Pamela y Walter son los co-fundadores de la organización GSWW ellos crearon un impacto muy grande en mi vida, me ayudaron mucho y también cambiaron mi vida de una manera muy fuerte. 

Ahora voy a comentarles porque elegí la carrera de psicología  Uno porque es la rama de la medicina (como les había comentado yo quería estudiar medicina general) El otro motivo, es porque el año pasado tuve una pérdida que fue muy dolorosa para mí hasta hoy día y es la pérdida de mi mejor amigo que era y sigue siendo una persona muy importante en mi vida.  También estoy estudiando psicología por la falta de psicólogos en Paraguay y porque muchos jóvenes hoy día no le encuentran sentido a la vida y entonces de esa manera poder ayudarlos.

My name is María Luján Avalos and I was born in the city of Coronel Bogado, I am 18 years old. I am the youngest of 8 siblings, I live with my mother, Mrs. Blanca Avalos, my older brother and nephew.

I graduated from school in 2023, at the Private Sub parochial school. Saint Joseph. I'm going to talk to you a little about my life and what I like to do. I come from a very humble family, my mother is a very hard-working lady, who worked all her life, cleaning houses and washing clothes, to support me and my family.

I am the first in my family to finish high school and attend a university. I really like playing soccer, I played soccer with the children for 8 years, where three years in a row I came out the best player, I also played at school.

In 2016 I met a group of girls who came from the United States at my old school Santa Clara, we met and created a very strong bond. Today it is a non-profit organization called Girls Soccer Worldwide. I am a scholarship recipient, ambassador and manager of the program here in Paraguay. We do a lot of community work with the organization, we help schools with food kits, physical education teachers and many other things. The organization currently has approximately 18 ambassadors. GSWW aims to empower girls to have the self-confidence to make a difference and become strong leaders in their own communities, and to break the cycle of poverty through Education and. Empowerment and also so that they can have the same opportunity as men.

In 2018 I had the opportunity to travel to the United States, it was the first time I left my home, far from my family, thank God I had the unconditional support of my mother and family and it was a trip of great learning, a trip that He opened his eyes and in the way, and the way of thinking. I heard for the first time a word that I had never heard in my life, it was the word, DREAM. It was one day when we were driving to the sea, where Pamela asked me what my dream was when I grew up? and my mind went blank, I didn't know what to respond and then he explained the meaning, I told him that I wanted to be a doctor and since then I know the meaning of dreaming big. From that moment on, my goal was to teach the girls the meaning of the word DREAM.

During my trip to the United States from 2018 to this year 2024, which was my fifth time in California, I learned a lot how to use my voice, I grew in my personal development and many other things, I love helping people and creating projects.
During these 8 years that I have been with the organization, I have grown as a person and it gives me a lot of confidence in believing in myself.

Also in 2019, we created a women's team with my mother and the organization called the Pioneras, where girls were given an opportunity to have access to a soccer field, it was the first girls' soccer school in my community today. That group of girls is not working today for some reasons but thanks to that many girls today have the opportunity to play soccer.

In 2022, travel to the north of Argentina in Villa Atamisqui where there is a lot of extreme poverty, where many people do not have access to drinking water, electricity and food. It was a trip where I learned a lot and saw the conditions where other people live and that there is a lot of need and not only in my community.

In 2023 I traveled to Puerto Rico with my second Family, Walter Pamela, Christopher and Jacob, we did community work, we did workshops and talks with girls and boys. Pamela and Walter are the co-founders of the GSWW organization, they created a very big impact on my life, they helped me a lot and also changed my life in a very strong way.

Now I am going to tell you why I chose the career of psychology. One because it is the branch of medicine (as I had told you, I wanted to study general medicine). The other reason is because last year I had a loss that was very painful for me until today. and it is the loss of my best friend who was and still is a very important person in my life. I am also studying psychology because of the lack of psychologists in Paraguay and because many young people today do not find meaning in life and therefore in that way I can help them.
