Taylor with a young girl from a Girls Soccer Worldwide partnered school in Paraguay

Going into this trip I was nervous.  I was little uncomfortable with the idea of leaving my family for a whole week and going out of the country.  Now,  I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Coronel Bogado, Paraguay is beautiful but it isn’t the only reason I would go again.  I was inspired by how kind and welcoming the people in their community were to all the many strangers arriving in their small town.

Every person I talked to was very open and friendly.

I am someone who is positive no matter what the situation is around me. However, returning back home, I wanted to make more of a conscious effort in being like those I met in Coronel Bogado.

A moment that stood out to me the most was is dancing with the girls after we had just delivered backpacks to a school in need. As I looked around, everyone around me had a smile on their face and everyone was dancing.

It didn’t matter that we all live completely different lives, miles apart. We were all united by simply dancing.

At the end of the day I was sad to say goodbye to my new friends, but I was happy I got the chance to meet them.

Being home, I am working on being more open and outgoing just like the people I met in Coronel Bogado.

They had a positive impact on my life.  My hope is I can make the same impact on those I meet each day.
